Antique Appraisal Event!

Whether it’s an treasured heirloom that has been in the family for generations, or a unique find recently discovered in a yard sale, almost everyone has an object whose age or value has them puzzled.  With the recent popularity of television programs like the Antiques Roadshow and online auctions like eBay, people are learning that ordinary objects might actually have extraordinary value.

On Sunday, March 26th, the Wakefield Historical Society invites the public to bring their treasures, large or small, for an appraisal by a certified appraiser from Kaminski Auctions.

The appraisal program will take place in the newly refurbished Heritage Room of the Americal Civic Center, 467 Main Street, Wakefield, from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. The first item to be appraised will be done free of charge.  If there are additional items to be appraised, there will be a cost of $5 per object.  Participants are asked to limit themselves to three items per
person.

You never know what might be discovered at the appraisal — one of the items brought to be appraised at the Historical Society’s appraisal evening several years ago was later  prominently featured at the Antiques Roadshow!  Perhaps that inherited piece of jewelry at the bottom of your jewelry box or the painting found at an estate sale will be this year’s discovered treasure.
